Systems Automotive Interiors (SAI) is a Mantachie, Mississippi-based Tier 1 supplier to Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mississippi (TMMMS). SAI assembles and sequences the seats for all Toyota Corolla passenger vehicles produced in the United States. Toyota Boshoku Mississippi supplies the component parts SAI uses in the seat assembly.
At full production, SAI can produce 195,000 sets of front and rear seats for TMMMS-manufactured vehicles in a just-in-time environment that are shipped in sequence.
SAI represents a strategic alliance between Systems Enterprises, a Jackson, Mississippi-based company, and Toyota Boshoku America, located in Erlanger, Kentucky. Housed in a 30,000-square-foot space, SAI has been operational since September 2011 shortly before TMMMS began production in October 2011. SAI currently employs more than 100 team members who are spread over two production shifts.
Our team’s primary goal is to supply TMMMS a seat that every Toyota Corolla driver and passenger trusts is safe and reliable, and considers comfortable, attractive, and affordable. As a result, each SAI team member executes his or her job and makes every seat with with the safety and comfort of families in mind at all times. From management to assembly line worker, the entire SAI team recognizes that communities compete on a global stage for businesses like Toyota that can change and shape their economic landscape. Toni D. Cooley, Chief Executive Officer
Toni has 30-plus years of experience in management, marketing, government relations, and law. She is responsible for SAI’s strategic direction and marketing. Toni holds a B.A. degree in Business Administration from Stephens College and J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota Law School.
Michael Thomas, President
Michael has a wide variety of financial, budgetary, managerial and systems improvement experience. He is a degreed Accountant with over 30 years of experience in financial and organizational management. He has managed budgets of over $400 million and has supervised as many as 50 managers and more than 2,000 employees. He has overseen operational functions including human resources, business services, transportation services, information technology services, facilities management, property/inventory accounting, and campus police, to name a few. Since the early 2000s, Michael has committed considerable energy, effort and study on organizational systemic improvement through human resource professional development, performance metrics monitoring and reporting and quality customer service. Michael is responsible for implementation of overall company strategy.
Joshua E. Ashaka, Chief Financial Officer
A Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant with more than 29 years of accounting, financial management, and consulting experience, Joshua is responsible for the accounting, finance, treasury, and information technology operations of SAI. He holds a B.S. degree in Accounting and a Master of Professional Accountancy degree from Jackson State University.
Mike McGuffie, Vice President of Operations
Mike has accumulated over 43 years of manufacturing experience, including 25 years with a Fortune 500 company and 16 years with Systems Electro Coating, a Nissan Tier I supplier. Throughout his career, Mike has utilized innovative technologies to enhance performance in distribution, manufacturing, financial management, warehousing, industrial engineering, and human resources. He oversees the day-to-day operations of SAI. Mike obtained a B.A. degree in Business Management from Mississippi State University.
